TriKonf, trinational conference for translators in Freiburg

Blog post by Fabio Said

On 10-11 October 2015 I attended the Trikonf international translation conference in Freiburg. Trikonf is an acronym for “trinational conference” in German. Its sessions were held in German, English and French.

This two-day conference offered numerous hands-on presentations, seminars and workshops, divided into three parallel language blocks.

Thematically, the conference focused on “Tuning the Machine“, i.e. translation technology and productivity strategies. Presentation topics included machine translation, comparing the costs and leaning curve of computed-assisted translation systems, as well as quality management and quality control tools.

The Trikonf conference was organised by The Alexandria Library, a provider of online courses for translators that was run by Siegfried Armbruster.
